Our Riders and Ponies
Victoria Cheshire - Wilton RDA Rider Ambassador
I’m Victoria, and I’ve proudly been the Ambassador for Wilton RDA since October 2022.
I started riding at Wilton RDA when I was about 2½ years old, back when the stables were in the grounds of Wilton House, before they moved to the Pembroke Centre. Riding has always been a huge part of my life, and it’s something I feel really passionate about. The Pembroke Centre is my “happy place”.
I always feel safe, supported, and encouraged, and over time I’ve grown in both skill and confidence. I also really enjoy supporting and encouraging other riders so they can enjoy their experience just as much as I do.
Here are some of the things I’m most proud of:
Riding Achievements
-
Competing in a range of events since 2012, including Dressage Anywhere and the RDA
National Championships
-
Winning many rosettes and several trophies along the way
-
Being awarded Participant of the Year at the 2025 National Championships at Hartpury
Ambassador Role
-
Representing Wilton RDA since October 2022
-
Welcoming special visitors, including the Head of Fundraising in November 2024 and the outgoing CEO in February 2025, and showing them the amazing work at the Pembroke Centre
-
Helping to raise awareness and funds for the RDA and the Centre
Fundraising & Community Involvement
-
Taking part in the sponsored Windsor Great Walk (with my dog Cliff!)
-
Supporting activities that bring the community together and highlight the work of Wilton RDA
Making a Difference
-
Creating the Ambassador’s Award after noticing coaches weren’t recognised during a Nativity event
-
Working with the Chair to introduce this annual Coach of the Year award, voted for by riders, staff, and volunteers
Being part of Wilton RDA means so much to me, and I’m really proud to give something back to a place that has given me so much.

Toby Sales - Wilton RDA Rider
I have been riding at RDA for three years and I have lots of amazing memories of riding Marmite, Maud, Sue and George.
I enjoy coming to the Wilton RDA because I love being around horses and kind people. The horses can sense how I feel and this makes me feel good because when I am upset they help me feel better.
Jane and Imi are extremely good people because they listen to me and help me. I feel that when I ride George we all listen to each other and work together. Once when we were doing dressage a car alarm went off and I could feel that George was worried so I calmed him down by talking to him and patting him. We came first and I was proud of me and George.
Mum told me about the National RDA Writing Competition and the theme of “celebration” and I immediately decided what I was going to write about - a “Celebration of Marmite”. I decided that because of how wonderful and amazing Marmite was and how he made me feel.
I did not think I was going to win a place so when I read the letter saying I’d won third place I was happy and surprised. The first thing I said was can we please show Jane and Imi, and do I have enough space to put it on my riding wall.
